Hey Family,
It was good! A little difficult since we are both new to the area so we are
getting to know the ward members and we are trying to meet the current
investigators which aren't many. But we are hopefully going to get the area
going here soon! And, yeah, it's nice being closer to the mountains! I can at least
see them now! So that's better than it was! I'll tell you what though, we have
some HUGE, I mean HUGE, houses in our area!!! They are super super nice!!!! So
that makes things fun!!
3 days ago I hit my 6 month mark!! 1/4 of my mission is over!
...
Yeah, so, not much happened this week. The most eventful thing was the storm
that I mentioned in a previous email with the picture. haha It was nuts!! It
snowed a ton, but not only that it was SUPER WINDY!! The roads got pretty
sketchy! So they asked us to park our cars and walk! haha We live 2.5 miles away
from our area so we had a bit of a walk to our area in that! And then on top of
that we had to find the houses we were going to visit! We have 2 GPS's, both of
them are old, but one is older than the other. One was left behind 'cause it
stays in the car we are in, and the other one I borrowed from another elder in
my last area 'cause he had another one, and since me and Elder Swenson are new we
needed something to help us out. So both of them are serving a purpose! We use
them both, 'cause one has streets on it that the other one doesn't! Anyway we
brought the GPS's with us to guide us to where we were going.
It was pretty
awesome; as we were walking a random couple driving by us pulled over and asked
us if we needed a ride. We graciously took their offer! They were complete
strangers, but we weren't scared 'cause we had faith we'd be ok! They were a nice
couple, and we had a good little conversation with them. They dropped us off at
the church and we continued the march to our dinner appointment.
We got a
voicemail from the AP's and it was super funny!! You could tell they were out
and working 'cause you could hear the wind and they were shouting! They were like, "THIS IS A BLIZZARD!!! OH YES IT'S A BLIZZARD, AND NOT THE ICE CREAM KIND!!!
DON'T WORRY, ELDERS AND SISTERS, WE WILL BLESSED AS WE CONTINUE TO WORK!!
BLESSINGS ALWAYS SEEM TO COME WHEN THE WEATHER GETS LIKE THIS! ELDERS AND SISTERS, REMEMBER THE WORK GOES ON NO MATTER WHAT!!" haha It was super super funny!
So, yeah, that was what happened this week. My comp is awesome!! I love him!!
Love you all and miss you!!
Elder Takis
