Pranked!

From 7/18/16 email:

Hahaha man that sounds like so much fun! I miss all the baseball adventures, sleeping in interesting hotels and hangin' out with the fam!! Being away from your family for 2 years and only being able to talk to you face to face twice a year and the only other contact is over email really causes you to miss your family and all the adventures. It really causes you to want to be around your family more!!

Oh so super funny story! So Thursday night, the night after transfers, Elder Sekona and I were doing some things in the office, when President Mendenhall walks in. We talked to him for a minute and then he disappeared. He came back in a few minutes later and said, "It's a mighty scary parking lot out there, you never know who might jump out at you!" Elder Sekona and I just looked at each other and thought the exact same thing...what made him say that? That was pretty random! We shrugged it off and didn't think anything of it.

President eventually left and we finished our tasks we were doing. We were talking on the phone with our District Leader, Elder Lomax, and he was following up on our day. We walked out to our truck and I pulled the keys out of my pocket to unlock the truck. Well at night when you unlock the truck's the overhead lights turn on. When I pressed the unlock button the lights came on and in the middle of our truck, sitting on the center console was this head, no body, just a HEAD!!!!

Elder Sekona and I both saw it at the same time and screamed!! (Elder Lomax was still on the phone.) Oh my gosh we about peed our pants!! It was SOOOOO SCARY! We both were shaking in our shoes and were trying to coax the other into getting into the car and moving the head. We of course at this point knew it was a fake head that had gotten removed from a Halloween statue. But it still freaked the heck out of us! The Head was of a freaky old man with lots of wrinkles and it was somewhat smiling! Someone wrote on his cheeks in permanent marker "#BeSmile." Well, only our mission knows that and so it had to be a missionary! Then it dawned on us! President had made that weird comment in the office and then it clicked! President put it in there! We realized we hadn't actually locked the truck otherwise it wouldn't have been in there! We then recognized the handwriting on the cheeks and it was Elder Hulka, he had given it to President earlier that day! hahaha All I can say is we are so glad that our Mission President has a sense of humor and likes to mess around with us!! I'll send pictures of what it looked like in our truck!

HAHAHA this picture below is probably one of the funniest things ever! This is Elder Lomax (L), he's our District Leader, and Elder Melchin (R). We were on our way to pick them up this morning so we could work out and this is the way we found them!!

Love and miss you all SOOOO MUCH!!!

Elder Takis
